This sensor operates based on the principle of electromagnetic induction. Inside the sensor, an oscillator generates an electromagnetic field at the sensing face. When a metal object approaches the sensing area, it disturbs this electromagnetic field and reduces the oscillation amplitude. The sensor detects this change and switches the output signal (ON or OFF) to indicate the presence of the metal object.
